The beer Trappistes Rochefort 6 starts from a density of 16,50° Plato to have a volume of alcohol of 7,5%. Its fine flavour makes it delicate to the palate! Oldest, brewed in a very empirical way until after the Second World war. Before 1958, conditioned only in 1/3 and 3/4 L bottles. Strong malt flavour, slightly bitter.

"Very similar to the Chimay Red. Not quite as cloudy but still hazy. Color is similar, but maybe more toward amber highlights around the reddish-brown body. Same head, maybe more effervescent, tan and foamy, thins out but what's left lasts long with virtually no lacing. The nose is fruity, but has more caramel notes and character than the Chimay. Mouthfeel is full but carbonic. Flavors are hearty and well-blended; raisins and rich malt. Delicious. Finish is mildly-sweet and warm. Another great dubbel, edge to this Rochefort. MUSIC: As with the Chimay, 'Stay Bright' by Linda Thompson, but this time the acoustic guitar version from Versatile Heart."

"It wasn't that long ago when I found out that being a "Trappist product" was a very good thing. So naturally I have sought these out. This beer pours a hazy, murky brownish color topped with a thick soapy off white head. It gives off a soothing fruity (apricot?) aroma with subtle malts. Nothing over-powering but nice. This one is easy drinking with a smooth slightly sweet flavor that consists of fruits (plums?) and some malts. Semi tart flavor in there after you taste the fruits but again, this is smooth and doesn't taste strong at all. Perhaps I desire a touch more flavor. Could even be considered refreshing. As the beer warms a little brown sugary note with a small rush of alcohol surfaces but it really does remain very well balanced. There is also a consistant foamy head sitting on top until the very last drop which is great. The only negative; this one is damn expensive so enjoy it! "

"Light swampy clear brown with grey chunks, a very thin noisy cap disappeared after only a few seconds, I wonder if I aged the “6” to long. Mild banana some clove, a very thin alcohol aroma makes up this very mild aroma. Highly carbonated and slightly thin feel aren’t wowing this mouth feel. Tasty banana and slight spice mild alcohol, after taste is clean. Slightly bitter finish with a sweet beginning, taste is over all way to mild but is highly drinkable. Must re review with a fresher bottle because when I had an bottle of this from the same batch last year it was way more tasty. i will say this tasty but below average for the style. "

"well this is by far my fav. Rochefort. Pours a penny copper brown with little to no head. Aroma was banana ,almond, pear and chocolate. overall i really like this one. If you don't like all the over powering alcohol taste of the other two this one should be right up your alley."

"Yet another fine Trappist brew from the monks at Brasserie Rochefort
Aroma: The aroma is a complex mixture of roasted malt, yeasts, chocolate, and plums.
Appearance: The beer pours a dark reddish brown with a generous tan coloured head that lasts a long time.
Mouthfeel: The mouthfeel is thin-bodied with mild carbonation, and rolls smoothly around the tongue
Flavour: Similar taste to the other Rochefort products with malt, bread, and a back-up of dark fruits
Overall: An excellent Abbey Dubbel from the fine monks in Belgium
