"This beer is the real deal! One of my favorites so far, especially for a Belgian. Aroma reminded me of hoppy bubble gum.....sweet with a bit of tartness. Appearance is a medium cloudy brown, sort of unfiltered. All kinds of stuff going on with the flavor. Caramel, toffee, barley, fruit, hops, etc. The alcohol is quite hidden for over 9%, with an almost perfect mouthfeel. Don't let the price fool you, as this could be one of the top notch brews out there."

"Pours a slightly hazy dark brown, almost a mahogany, with a fairly thick pale tan head that sticks around for a little bit. Strong, malty aroma has an undertone of spices and some fruity hints. Flavor is mainly malty, subtly spicy and fruity, with just a little bit of an alcohol nip. Texture is very smooth yet a little rough on the edges. Worthy!"

"Overall one of the most fabulous beers I have had. Consumed probably too cold, on a snow shoe walk, from the bottle. Perfect circumstances to be analytical about beer..... Otherwise the tan foam that spurted from the bottle was fabulous, definately a sweetness to the beer. Not in a candy or refined sugar way, but in a natural concentrated way. Like raisins, dates, dried currants, perhaps even port. Might be crazy to feel baked sweet potatoe notes... Fantastic yeast notes set it off. Fabulously smooth, incredibly refreshing, I look forward to reviewing in better circumstances, above 20 below. Pretty much Beer Monks nectar though."

"This was to treat to find in Maui HI. It poured out cola-esqe in color. It was very brown, hints of caramel and sweet alcohol. There was a good amount of sediment in the bottle. First sip was just heaven. I too wouldnt call this a beer. Rather a culmination of eons of techinque and love. I would be very interested in tasting #10. For now, I will continue to drink this when ever I pass by the shop."

"Brown not very clear trappistlike color. Lots of foam, even when cold. Aroma is super, with fruits and lemon in it. Taste is oaky, round, but still not very interesting for this type of beer. Aftertaste includes nuts, fruits and refreshing bitterness."
