"The aroma of this was kind of strong...a blend of caramel, coffee and chocolate comes to mind. I really liked the pitch black coloring and thick head when this brew was poured. As for the taste. The flavors in the aroma came through rather weakly in the taste, "

"Poured a medium brown with strong smokey aroma and taste. The mouth feel was thin, and not as rich as I would have liked. There was a decent amount of head with light lacing. I found the flavor overpowering to be paired with food."

"Bottle at the SL Beer 101 tasting on porters. Poured a lighter shade of brown, medium head and lacing levels. The aroma was faint chocolate with a roasted smokiness. The flavor was all of that along with some caramel, fruity esters, bubblegum, and coffee notes. Unfortunately, this thing was weak in flavor, somewhat of a watery mouthfeel. Thanks, Robert!"

"Labelled best before Feb06, but seemingly none the worse for wear. Dark mahogany with ruby tints in the light, a a foamy tan head and adequate lacing. Aroma hints of coffee and roasted malts. Mouthfeel slightly thinnish, but tingly and zippy on the tongue... well-carbonated. Flavor repeats the coffee note of the aroma, with some chocolate as well. A nice porter! I'll repeat this one I think."

"Dark brown colour, small off-white head. Aroma of sweet sugar, dark chocolate and roast. Flavour is pleasantly raosted, and also has coffee, chocolate and some licorace in it. Very well done porter!"
