Cranberry Lambic is a fruit beer that draws its flavor not just from the cranberries it is brewed with, but also from the unique fermentation character imparted by the rare wild yeast strain. The result is a flavor rich in fruitiness and reminiscent of cranberries and bananas, cloves and nutmeg. The yeast fermentation also will create a slight sourness on the sides of the palate, a signature of the original Lambic style which, with the subtle cereal note from the wheat malt, remind its drinker that, as fruity a beer as this is, it is still a beer.

"Thanks to David (Lilihel's brother) for this one on our trip to Nashville. Left over from his Christmas season (as it does say best before April). Pours a hazy orange-red colour with a pale pink creamy head and has decent retention and lace. I was quite surprise to smell bananas more than anything else. I guess it is from their wheat (the same used in their Hefeweizen). The cranberries are light in the background. The mouthfeel is quite sweet and semi-syrupy. The taste of the fruit are present, but again, the strong bananas come in to take over, right into the aftertaste. I guess when this beer expires its freshness, the cranberries disappears but the wheat stays strong. Just wondering about the lambic part ??"

"Aroma of cranberry and syrup, with a slight head and okay lacing. Thick, full-bodied mouthfeel, with a slightly tart, cranberry and syrup flavor and bitter cranberry aftertaste."

"I know I've bought the holiday sampler before, so I must have had this before. Nevertheless, I can't remember it at all. Now I know why. Has a fluffy, rocky head unlike any lambic I've ever had. Reddish-orange-brown color. Lots of lacing on the glass. Then the taste. Nothing but cough syrup. Some tart cranberries way under there. Unpleasant alcohol and bread aroma. Dear Zeus stop making this stuff. "

"THis is a beer that when I poured it and the aroma hit my nose I was excited. The scent was comforting and warm. The color was dark and red. This was setting up to be a good beer. Then I tasted it. It went down smooth but the taste was that of stale bread. Not something I enjoyed. However, I would like to try more lambics."

"Presentation: It was poured from brown 12oz bottle into a pint glass.
Appearance: The body has a hazy appearance with a deep reddish tan, rust color. On top it has a small slightly pinkish white head. The head slowly fades down to a thick ring that hangs on well and leaves some lace on the glass.
Smell: The aroma hits you with tart wheat and tart cranberry along with cherry cough syrup, sweet maple syrup and a hint of yeast.
Taste/Mouth Feel: The flavor has an odd mix of tangy wheat, tart cranberry, cough syrup, sweet grain, maple syrup, and just a hint of some yeast. The finish quickly goes from syrupy sweet to tangy and slightly acidic and then hangs on the tongue. The body is medium to full with a heavy slick and almost sticky texture. Carbonation is delicate and gets lost in the heavy texture.
Notes: I actually don't mind this beer but I have to be in an odd mood and I wouldn't want to drink too many of these. Also the bottle reads that they use a top fermenting yeast so this is in no way anything close to a real Lambic beer!!!
