"I liked the dark brown color and the creamy head of this brew. The aroma was strong-a bit nutty. However, the taste was quite disappointing (especially after reading the other reviews)....I really thought this had a iodine-like flavor and not all that pleasant."

"Not to bad looking, nice brown huge with a tan head, nice lace. A nutty aroma on the nose, hints of malt and a light hint of hops. Wait! A note of caramel? Flavor is sweet all the way with a bitter bite in the end. OK in the mouth, sort of light. Not to overly impressed with this brew. Overall…ok."

"Saranac Nut Brown Ale was a decent beer on a scale of 1 to 12 (beers of winter) with 1 being the highest I give it a 4. It poured a medium brown colored body with a small head. The taste was sweet and nutty. Not bad.. another tolerable saranac. "

"First of the holiday 12 pack. I see on the label "Ale Brewed with Honey" and I figured I would like this one the least as I generally do not like beer on the sweet side. But it wasn't too sweet at all. Light bodied and a little dry but overall a decent effort.

"my first of the 'beers of winter' mix. Saranac NBA pours amber with an average head. Sweet toasty aroma. Mouthfeel is round on a medium body with fine carbonation. Flavor is pretty wet on the nose, with some hops coming through in the finish, only a little dry. Good malt presence, which is sweet of honey. Also crisp toasted and earthy flavors of mixed nuts. I agree, this reminds me of a Marzen too."
