In celebration of the fall harvest, here's an autumn favorite that's as enjoyable as pumpkin pie. This hearty ale is brewed with cinnamon, allspice, cloves and vanilla. Look for a full body and amber color. We're sure you'll enjoy this special brew!

"A week before Halloween, why not another pumpkin ale? And the people at Saranac have not disappointed yet. This one is an clear orange amber body. The head is average, an off white (some tannish notes), foamy. No hang time, disappears rather quickly. There is a smoothness in this ale. Taste? Aroma? Think Pumpkin pie with a lot of allspice. The pumpkin and allspice definitely dominate. A drinkable ale went well with the chicken and dumplings I’d had for dinner."

"Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz. bottle into a pint glass.
Appearance: It has a deep amber color with very good clarity. Its head is thin, white in color and fades quickly leaving a few bubbles on top and no lacing.
Smell: A strong spicy aroma hits you in the nose. Cinnamon and clove are the stand out spices.
Taste/Mouth feel: Wow this starts off with a big spicy kick in the mouth. Allspice, bitter cinnamon and clove overpower the malt that has some toasted and caramel notes. The pumpkin flavor is really hidden deep under the spicy character of this beer. A more apt name for this beer would be Saranac Spice Ale. The spicy character fades off a touch and hop bitterness picks up before slowly fading off into the finish. Its palate is smooth and slick with mild carbonation inside its medium body.
Notes: Overall it’s a little bit too unbalanced on the spicy side.

"Quite good pumpkin ale. Fair dark amber pour with some full frothy head. Good aroma that combines both pumpkin pie and beer into one delicious aroma. Good amber ale styled flavour profile with just the right hints of spices to enhance the flavour. Mouthfeel was a tad biting but not too negative. Good for the turkey season."

"Nut brown to amber in color with a tan head. The pumpkin came across as more of an aroma than a flavor. Which I find to be a very positive thing. The brew reminded me of Saranac's Adirondack Amber with just the right amount of pumpkin pie spice added. The cinimon and allspice came through but did not detract. This would be a good pairing with turkey, or chicken. "

"I didn't think I was going to like this as I am not overly fond of many Saranac products, but I was pleasantly surprised. The aroma was very nice-much like mulling spices. This pourd a beautiful dark amber color with a full, frothy head. The taste was very sweet and enjoyable...I recommend giving this a try! "
