"The aroma is creamy-like and malty with some spice as well as nuts. The appearance is a dark brown to slight dark reddish amber with a nice full head on top that is off-white that clings to the glass nicely and remains. The mouthfeel is full and complex with nice malty balance and coats the pallet very nicely. The flavor is creamy with hints of nut character and spice with a very nice, warming finish with hints of slight bitter. Overall, this is a very good lager and rich and creamy and very drinkable and sweet and has nutty robustness and is very refreshing. Thanks nstallmaster. "

"Not a bad beer at all, would make a nice session beer. Pours a dark amber with 1 finger of head that slims down to a thin layer. Aroma is nutty and sweet caramel, with some mild earthy hops. Flavors are nutty and earthy, with some perfect caramel sweetness, and a pleasant finishing bitterness."

"Pours with a nut brown color and some decent white head. The scent did not make much of an impression on me. The flavor bore definite nut brown notes with woody (he said woody) or earthy overtones. A little more hop sharpness than one would expect with this style, also the flavor of the alcohol peaks through a little more than one would expect. Medium to slightly heavy bodied. A good brew - not outstanding, but good."

"Pours dark brown with great head and a little lace, and minimal carbonation. Definitely dark, malty aroma, little hop presence in aroma; pretty good for the style. Mouthfeel is pretty full and smooth. Flavor is dark-malty and nutty, with a nutty-bitter aftertaste (like walnuts). Not a bad beer all-in-all, rich and malty!"

"Saranac calls this their Season's Best Nut Brown Lager. Brown colored topped with a thick tan head. The aroma was pretty boring, but there's a nice malt flavor in there with a hoppy spicy bite. Maybe a little sour. Relatively warming and a nice one for the Holidays. "
