This full-bodied traditional English-style ale is brewed with a high gravity and extra hops, which originally helped to preserve the beer on long voyages from England to India.

"Standard 12 oz. bottle, brought back from the Bottleworks location.
Bottled on date.
Poured a bright copper orange color, with a solid, foamy white head. Thin sticky lace sheets.
Has a very good IPA aroma, grapefruit and orange, slightly earthy, and some caramel malt.
Taste has some earthy hop bitterness, lots of caramel malt keeps everything in balance. Clean flavors, crisp and dry finish. Good level of carbonation, smooth, nice body. High (8%) alcohol is hidden, very drinkable. This would be a for-sure-go-to beer if it were available to me locally."

"Pours a cloudy dark gold with tall, lasting head and great lacing. It's not common for a hop to stump me (last time was Warrior), but this contains a pungent, earthy, spicy hop character I've never smelled or tasted before and I'm completely fascinated with it. Medium bodied with stimulating carbonation and enjoyable alcoholic kick. I like it more with every sampling."

[4] Review by Brett from Far from good beer, OK, USA who has tried this beer a couple times. (5/27/2007 8:54:28 PM)
"Sampled from bottle. Pours hazy copper with a creamy, off-white head and thick lacing. Its aroma is dominated by resinous, piney hops with just a hint of malts and fruit underneath. The flavor is pleasantly bitter. Earthy, floral hops and bright fruit notes have more presence here than its aroma. Medium-bodied and well-carbonated. An enjoyable IPA, but not in the class of Two Hearted or Alpha King."
