The world's oldest producer of wheat beer, Schneider Brauerei, has also created the world's original dopplebock wheat beer. Aventinus wheat-dopplebock is brewed using over 60% wheat malts. Aventinus is traditionally bottle fermented in the method champagnoise style, unpasteurzed and unfiltered with a pure top fermenting yeast that you will notice settles on the bottom of the bottle. Aventinus has a deep tawny colour with malty notes in the nose and chocolate and spices in the palate.

"Aventinus poured a deep amber body, my only complaint about this beer was the carbonation. It is bottle fermented which should give it massive amounts of carbonation, however mine was rather flat, with very little carbonation and a few yeast floaters. Aromas of banana, spices, and some fruit notes coming through. Flavor was similar to the aromas with banana, fruit, sweet malts and a little caramel to boot. Overall it is a very good beer, and i cant wait until i get some more."

"The pour from the bottle into the distinctive Aventinus tulip-topped weissbier glass unleashed a star-bright flurry of carbonation, building a substantial tightly-packed off white head above the hazy deep amber-brown body. A pungent, complex nose of ripe dark fruit - plums, raisins, and cherries - along with rich malt sweetness, cloves and light alcohol. Stunning. Initial smooth palate turns crisp and long with some playful bitterness. Flavors of warm fruit, mostly dark, but also some citrus and banana. Lightly spicy, clove, with chocolate-coved raisin notes. Brilliant. One of the world's best beers. MUSIC: 'Circles' by Bob Mould from 'Body of Song'; "Star bright, so stunning and brilliant, The circle keeps spinning around me"

"The pour produced a decent foam up of off white, rocky head that didn't last that sat on top of extremely thick, dark brown muddy beer with a good amount of very fine silty sediment and slightly spotty lacing. The aroma was of alcohol , dirt, tobacco, some dark spice, smoke, maybe dates adn probably cherries. Very complex! Holy hell the aroma is great. The taste of spicy alcohol, dark fruit (plum / dates),caramel, sweet candy adn yeast make this a complex flavoured beer that seems quite balanced. Medium bodied with a velvety smooth feel despite the bite of alcohol. Has a soft, chewy sweet bready finish and a bit of alcohol as well. Leaves the mouth dry. The belch almost burnt my gut out. Drank the last half in under 4 minites. There was a bit of dustiness from the last couple sips due to the sediment chug. Obviously this is an excellent beer."

"A delicious weizen doppelbock with a reddish brown body but the the light brown head dissipated quickly. An aroma of ripe fruit and caramel but on the palate I tasted raisins, toffee, chocolate and roasted malts with a somewhat bitter finish. A great German weizen doppelbock."

"This beer 'looked' heavy. It's a brownish coloured beer with a huge tan coloured head. The aroma was malt, spice, and some sweet tones like brown sugar. The flavour was very malty, with some wheat and yeast. A very good beer."
