"Many an altbier out there that is as good as this. Normal copper color with a nice pillowy head. Lacing was great. Aroma was hard to pick up, but the flavor was not nearly as crisp as a lager should be, some fruit and citrus tones picked up, almost like this one was a bit cider-like. Mouthfeel moderate, on par for the style."

"Draught at Schumacher, Im Goldenen Kessel, Altstadt, Dusseldorf. Medium amber colour with excellent white head, that lasted as long as the beer. Malty nutty and hoppy. Very smooth, medium bodied. My least favourite of the Dusseldorf brewpubs Alts, but it is still excellent."
