This full flavoured beer was brewed and named after BC's picturesque coastline. It takes 4 ingredients and at least 20 days to make BC's favourite cream ale. We use only the best malted barley, hops, yeast and water. Smooth and even, this beer boasts a terrific balance between full flavoured taste and refreshment. Enjoy at almost any temperature other than warm.

"Pours a clear light gols with a fast disappearing cap..weak lacing.
Aromas are vague..some fruits some cereals
Light body. weak malt spine watery character.
fast light ale with some lagered character but totally indistinct. Clean crisp when cold with modest flavor and character...about as close to a corporate brew as you can get"

"New label, and name - now known as Coastal Cream Ale. Industry standard 341ml bottle, on sale for $7.99CAN / 6 pack. Copper colour with a thin off white head. Very little head retention, foam shrank away to just a thin ring around the edge. Not much smell, some toffee or caramel and the slightest hop aroma. Taste is more of the same caramel, but there is a bitter finish to it. Similar to a brown ale in its smoothness. Creamy mouthfeel with just a little bite at the end. Good, but lacks anything extra to rate any better than average."

"The best thing this one has going for it is the colour, which is a clear and very dark copper. THe large, foamy head was ivory in colour and left some nice lacing. Then we start to go downhill. The aroma is a bit floral/hopped but no malt notes to speak of. The taste at least offered a hint of malt but little else, and the mouthfeel was essentially watery and weak. I would NOT recommend this beer and seriously doubt the claims on the Shaftebury website that "this is BC's favourite cream ale"."
