This Porter is entirely handmade in the 'old world' tradition, using only the finest barley malts, whole hops, brewer's yeast and water.

"Everything you'd want in a Porter and it's made in the USA. I'm a sucker for the dark brown body and creamy head of a porter. This one has that and the sweet, malty aroma with hint of roasted coffee is oh so inviting. The flavor is equally rich and satisfying."

"I am looking at a coffee black, fully carbonated, mid tan thick headed porter. The smell of roasted malt and toffee is slightly sweet. Flavor mirrors the smell, nice and smooth going down, good finish. Darn good porter from seirra nevada."

"I don't get why this is such an underappreciated beer. It's available most places, it's on the low side of purchasability, and it's a really solid beer. Perhaps since it's not "barrel aged" or "limited batch size" or some other latest gimmick, it gets overlooked. It shouldn't because I thought it was a top notch porter.
The beer pours out a viscuous black liquid, with a small 1-finger thick head on it. The aroma is predominantly chocolate but there is a very strong second layer of roasted malts which follows up nicely. It almost smells like something Starbucks would serve up. Mouthfeel has a nice thickness to it, almost coating. Flavors bounced from bitter chocolate, to espresso bitterness and back, all the time keeping the tastes of chocolate and espresso apart. With some residual sweetness left in it, it teeters quite nicely between overly bitter and just right. Great porter.

"Pours a deep brown coffee clear with a nice tannish head and nice lacing. Some carbonation. Aromas of sweet toasted malts, toffee and coffee and slight hops. Taste is very smooth and standard with a nice maltiness and sweet coffee flavor. "
