In early July, 2006 in commemoration of our 10th Anniversary, and the brewing of the 100th Batch of beer brewed at our new Pinnacle Peak brewery, Brewmaster Scott Yarosh wanted to do something different. The “Sonoran 100” is a naturally fermented Malt liqueur flavored with Honey and a hint of Maple. After the 9 week fermentation, we aged our "100" for several months before running the whole batch through our custom filter of toasted Maple and Oak wood chips. The result was a Bourbon-like brew that is best served in a small snifter or as a shot on the rocks for those that prefer it chilled. This 19.5 % ABV is the first brew in a continuing series of "Extreme Brews" the Sonoran Brewing Company has planed. Every 100 batches we will brew something wild! Keep an Eye out for It!

"Minibottle (handbottle) kindly shared by omhper on the bus back home from the Björntasting. Deep brown colour, no head. Big time raisin/plum as well as some caramel and alcohol in the aroma. Mild coffee and roasted malts as well. Flavour is rather much the same with liquorice being in a rather strong role. Some mild spicy burning notes as well. Cool enough the alcohol isn't burning that much in this one. "

"An excellent looking flask (54 out of 1000) for a high octane beer, courtesy bockyhorsey. Pours an orangey brownish color, murky, yet not full of big sedimentation or anything. Dead flat beer, no sound at all upon opening the cork. No bubbles on the pour, other than 2 or 3 air entrapments like you'd get even when pouring water. Well, no problem, I wasn't expecting much fizz at 19.5%/39 proof anyway. Aroma was maple, vanilla, oak, bourbon/liquor/whiskey, and a touch of meaty smoke as it warmed. The flavor followed suit, alcohol under all of the aroma, yet certainly not overwhelming. Mouthfeel was really quite watery/light given the level of alcohol and malt in this thing, very surprisingly thin in that sense. Not sticky at all. A good brew to split into 4 oz samples, as it took all 15-20 minutes to put down. Overall, the flavors didn't meld great, but the lack of soy and sticky maple-ness kept this one well above the SA Triple Bock in quality. Thanks, Bill, for the opportunity on this one, definitely a cool experience, memorable, yet not an outstanding beer in itself (yet, my expectations were set appropriately and met, neat stuff)."

"This is a really cool bottle and a decidedly odd beer. Clear dark copper with no head. It smells decidedly like bacon. The flavor is fairly dry and a bit alcoholic. Slight bit of caramel and smokiness. This would quite likely be improved by carbonation."
