The classic German dark beer, bottom fermented 'Doppel Bock'. Full bodied with a deep dark color and rich roasted malt flavor.

"A dark amber-brown body in the glass. A moderate head, disappointingly lacking staying power. Not much carbonation. Nose pocks up dark fruits and yeast-bread. The palate though gets a little pleasant surprise. Burnt caramel, raisins, coffee all balanced by a nice hoppy bitterness. Worth trying once."

"A very dark and hearty brew, with a nice aroma and apperance. My only problem with this one was the aftertaste, it was a very stong taste of mushrooms, very earthy, which lowered its score for me. nice little buzz though."

"Drank one of these with a former student of mine who I ran into while in San Luis Obispo. Now that he's 21...he bought me a couple beers. I must've done my job well.
This poured a deep brown color and was very sweet, like caramel. I didn't really taste the alcohol. Also had a bit of a taste of cola to it. I couldn't really smell anything specific to it, but then again, it was served to us VERY cold and I didn't exactly wait for it to warm up. The mouthfeel was perfect, thick and well-carbonated, but staying well on this side of smooth and drinkable. A really wonderful beer."

" This beer had nice lacing and a good head. It poured a dark brown. This beer is suppose to be a doublebock, but it seemed a little light tasting to me. I think I need to try this one more time."
