This noble delicious beer with a high fermentation has a ruby purple colour with a full malty and fruity taste. This beer has a beautiful round froth due to the second fermentation with a taste that creates a perfect balance between sweet and sour.

"Almost finished with my mixed 6 from St Bernardus. Another good (but not outstanding) brew. Pour is dark red-brown, opaque, with a small head. Aroma was very faint; just the slightest bit of fruitiness and malt evident. Taste is fruity, yeasty, a bit musty but not overly sweet, even after the beer warms (which is a good thing). "

"A deep mahogany colored ale. Big, frothy off white (light beige) head. Impressive hang time. Settles into an equally impressive lacing. Yeast, spice, dark fruits and alcohol dance beautifully together in the nose. The body is light, but smooth enough to be appetizing. Sugary grapes and an alcohol bite are in the tasting. Not bad, but the appearance is better than the sampling.

"Bottle pour is murky brown with quick, effervescent carbonation. Head is thin, but retention is solid. Aroma is earthy and musty, typical Belgian fare. Taste is exceptionally smooth. I get hints of buttery toast and raisins. It's amazingly complex yet unbelievably smooth. "

"Bottle. Poured a cloudy deep brown colored beer with a one finger beige solid creamy foamy head that had a long retention. Mid-sized carbonation. Great lacing. The aroma is caramel malts, yeast, fruity, cherries, strawberries (!), apricot, plums, raisins. The flavour is caramel malts, dark fruits, plums, raisins, figs, dried fruits, nuts, spicy, licorice. The mouthfeel is creamy, crispy and very smooth. This medium bodied beer has a fruity and spicy finish. A superb tasty flemish brew !"

"Well, after swirling in the ton of sediment at the bottom of the bottle all I have in my glass now is a awful looking concoction that resembles globby swamp water eggs. Brown muck, a small brown cap that returns on swirl, some spotty lacing and ok retention. Just a shitload of sediment. Sweet spice on the nose, candied orange rind, chewed gum with half the flavour gone, toffee, mellow, maybe a soft version of nutmeg. Instant spice flavour hits first, strange cocoa, bitter spice, minor alcohol on the nose, easy to drink but I think I am suffering through the immense sediment that will not settle one bit. A disappointing brew."
