This noble delicious beer with a high fermentation has a ruby purple colour with a full malty and fruity taste. This beer has a beautiful round froth due to the second fermentation with a taste that creates a perfect balance between sweet and sour.

"330ml bottle
8.0% ABV
I tried this beer on December 16, 2011 at "Bar Volo" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer pours a medium reddish brown with a thin tan coloured cap. The aroma consists of yeast, dark sugars, malt, and plums. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour is sweet malt, fruit, sugar, grains, butterscotch, and yeast. Nothing like a good Belgian yeast."

"From Lafayette Gourmet (Paris). Poured a dark brown, so dark and so cloudy under a creamy ivory head. Lotsa sediment here. Aroma was dark fruits and yeast, so was the taste. Sweet, smooth mouthfeel and finish. Pretty damned delicious."

"A typical strong Belgian ale (the bottle refers to it as a dubbel) with all the hallmarks of Belgium....dark fruit, yeast, and malt. Not as sweet as the 12 but still complex flavours of roasted malt and yeast."

"Yummy velvety goodness. I want to stick my dick in it. I want it to stick it's dick in me. The head on this stuff is massive. 4 fingers? 5 fingers? Whole fist? But I digress. Now for the good part. This beer has an intoxicating aroma of fruitcake and ginger bread. Pours the most exqusite mahogany color that I've ever seen. Bubles constantly erupt fom the bottom of the glass. Where's that goopy crud that I keep reading about? You must of got an old bottle sukka! Mouthfeel is velvety and the taste is of smooth butter, brown sugar and alcohol. I taste cake. Yup. I said it. There's cake in here. The finish is warm and soothing. This is like a spiced bock beer, but so much better. Cost a lot but it's worth it. Drink this one in the winter and you'll thank me. If i had to choose one word, it would be "magnificent.""

"dark fruit, yeasty character abounds, but i found the flavor to be lacking in comparison to the aroma. pretty highly carbonated like all the St B brews. nice offering, but not quite a standout."
