" Labelled as Alesmith Mikkeller Stone Belgian Style Tripel Ale. Pours out in a clear golden colour with a small white foam. Sweet aroma of oranges, bubblegum and apricots with edgy notes of coriander and orange-peels. Medium to full-bodied with touches of sweet oranges and apricots with yeasty and spicy undertones. Sweet yeasty finish with some menthol sensations. I expected more from this."

"8.7% ABV. This collaborative tripel poured with a hazy orange golden colored body topped off with a small slightly off white head that left light lace down the sides of the glass. Aroma is belgian yeast, sour fruit and some sweet malts. The mouthfeel is medium bodied rich and perfectly carbonated. Flavor is candi sugar, some light grassy hops, bubblegum, banana and bitter peach."

"12 fl. oz. bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 8.7%. Golden colour, big white head. Lovely aroma of Belgian yeast, fruity esters, spices and floral and fruity hops. The flavour is spicy and yeasty with a sweet and fruity body, and a distinct hoppy bitterness in the finish. Only drawback is that the alcohol is not particularly well hidden, so if you get drunk on this beer, you understand why. Still a beer I’ll be happy to drink again!"

"Bottle: Poured a clear deep golden color ale with a generous pure white foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma of sweet malt with some dry European hops also noticeable. Taste is also a mix between some sweet Belgian-style malt with a dry hoppy finish. Full body with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. While this was very enjoyable, it definitely lacked some fruity ester or a spicy peppery yeast. "

"A moderate pour produces a three-finger thick, frothy, light tan colored head in my 25cl tulip glass. The beer is a clear, rich copper color that shows a brilliantly clear, full gold color when held up to the light. The aroma is a mix of spicy phenolics, ripe fruit and pale-toasted grain notes. Aromatic notes of clove, a touch of herbal anise, toasty cracker like malt, a touch of sweet honey-like grain, some herbal hop notes, sweetened lemon zest, . As the beer warms a soft cracker like malt character becomes more noticeable as does the warming alcohol notes and some citrus zest character.
Sweet, but more from fruity esters than overly sticky malt. The malt does contribute some sweetness that mixes in with other notes to produce an herbal honey like character. Overall this beer is fairly light bodied (when considering the strength), but does have some viscous heft to it. The beer finishes with a spicy, herbal, bitter finish that is a mix of hops, phenolics and lightly warming alcohol. Fruity notes of melon, green apple, a touch of pear, raisin and some lightly tart plum are found up front & in the middle and help to balance the spicy finish that this beer has. The spice character has touches of young ginger, at times woody black pepper and some lemon zest character that is lightly sweetened.
This is definitely a tasty, interesting beer. One of the better, and more in style, Belgian-styled beers that Stone has made. I like how the fruit and honey malt are well balanced by spicy fermentation notes and some touches of noticeable hop character.
