Stronger than the regular Arrogant Bastard and more tasteful with a slight kick!

"A deep reddish brown colored ale. Big light-beige head. Froth, with decent hang time. Settles, eventually into a hefty oily ringlet. Complex aroma. Sweet malt, alcoholic phenols, floral hops. Full bodied, creamy on the palate. The alcohol bite is pronounced, but not offensively. It doesn’t distract from the excellant balance of sweet malt and citrusy-pine hops.

"Big Double Bastard too! Pours a hazy amber orange with a thick and tight creamy head that sticks around leaving tons of lacing. Big sweet malty bastard with a honey and resiny hops aroma. Taste is huge with a syrup sweet maltiness and a cutting bitter from the big-assed hops. Mammoth beer. Very warming. Another Top 100 Beer marked off of the wish list."

"Hello Nurse!!! This is some SERIOUS brew!!! Hops are there in spades. What makes this brew so remarkable is that is is probably one of the most perfectly balanced 'Double Ales' or 'Stron Ales' I have EVER had. The alcohol is warm and makes its presence very pronounced. The hops are quite loud, and the aroma strong. Everything is big about this beer and it balances so no one note over shadows another. I do not recommend drinking any other beer before or after you pop one of these - and maybe even staying with the one. This is one smooth yet very robust brew. Pairs well with a rich meal. Can't say I would enjoy this on its own, it has so much to offer a hearty steak, pork loin, or heavy meatsauce on pasta. Not for beginners. This is a 'must try' if you are a hop-head. Gets better as it warms up."

"Very thick, malty and sweet. Too sweet, really, for my personal taste. Great foamy head, superb lacing and decent flavor. All-in-all, not a bad beer, but certainly not great. Just didn't live up to the hype to me."
