"My first oaked ale. Pours a nice dark copper with a light head that falls quickly to a nice lacing. Aroma is sweet and hoppy with a bit of pine. Taste is where this brew shines. Hoppy, sweet malt, and something else that I cannot quite place - (I think STALEYIV got it - the dark fruit, like figs and rasins). Smooth for an ale, but alot of character on the palate. Amazingly well balanced and the finish is light and piney. Probably one of Stone's best ales. Great with fried food (just what I happen to be eating as I drink it)"

"Finally an oak aged beer that I’ve enjoyed. Poured out a deep mahogany brew with a dark tan head of good size and excellent retention that leaves a disaster of a glass. The aroma is quite nice but mellowed out in comparison to the regular stuff. Soft fruity citrus aromas (fake orange, peach, lime, nectarines), ... getting thicker now.. candy and caramel, soft vanilla and maybe a hint of raspberry on the back end. The straight up bitter judo chop to the ’buds gets broken up with the dulling flavour of oak, vanilla, weak black plum, alcohol that is peeking out from under the hop blanket, some spice... really, it’s just a muted version of the original. Citrus of grapefruits mainly. Close to medium bodied, not really smooth due to the hop beating. Finish is very long with hard bitterness that never leaves. Thanks Brad and your almost relative."

"Yum yum yummy beer!!! So good, so in your face, so a lot of stuff I can’t say in a public forum. Beer appears to me to be a dark brown with elements of red a nice long lasting crown. Very nice malty aroma, with elements of wet forest floor, rubber, some citrusy hops that all combines nicely and seems fairly smooth. Tons of wood in the flavour, plums, citrus, caramel………………so good. The oak flavours work very well with this beer, the dark roasted malts and the vanilla oak flavour blend perfectly. There is so many bitter hops in the finish I love it. This brew was awesome but I think I like the normal Arrogant Bastard better."

"Well hot damn!!!!! Poured this from a bottle thanks to my friend Kelly! Had a nice almond head with a clear oak coloring. The aroma had just a hint of whiskey back with a heap of earthy malts. The taste is silky smooth with a just a touch of the oak. Alot of brews tend to get over powered with the oak flavors but this was nice and subtle. This is an excellently done beer with a nice even flavor of oak malts and hops. "

"What an awesome beer. A nice dark clear amber pour with a two finger cream head leaving some tight lacing. The aromas are of caramel, oaken vanilla, slight ripe fruits with a touch of floral, and oily hops. Taste is very mellow but firm with a oaken/vanilla maltiness, a bit of alcohol, a touch of sweet raisins, and again some slightly oily hops. This is how wood-enhanced beer should be - classy, mellow, flavorful."
