So called because of the immediate ruinous effect on your palate. 100+ IBUs. Bracingly bitter. Thick, pungent hop aroma. We would say that no hops were injured in the brewing of this beer, but that would be a massive lie.

"Good DIPA with lots of hops and lots of bitterness. The grassy, citric hops push the beer a bit towards paint thinner levels of bitterness, but it’s a pleasant, interesting over-the-top-ness, a line that Stone regularly walks. The malt backbone is just enough to tone down the bitterness to manageable levels. "

"This beer excites the mind just by looking at the bottle. It pours a deep orange, amber color with a thin white head. The aroma is very citrusy and floral. The aroma alone makes your mouth watery because you know you are going to taste hops and lots of them. I love hops and I loved this beer. It's one that kind of give you that bite on the back of you tongue that all hop-heads love and look for. A damn fine IPA and one that will make it's way to my collection more often."

"Awesome. As the label says, if you aren't used to really tasting your beer this will be a shock to you. I had my doubts having bought the bottle at the local Tops Friendly Market, but it was marvelous. Wonderful sustained head. Clear golden colour. An aroma that makes not doubt that you will be TASTING this beer! Can you say "hops"? And yes it does jump on you, but what... joy. I loved this and would definitely go again. It deserves its rank. "

"This beer had a golden amber with a weak white head the dissipates fairly quickly. The aroma is outstanding with a citrus, pine and grassy smell, the problem is this beer has an over powering grapefruit and sour flavor that takes away from the otherwise good IPA."

"Ureka!!! One of the BEST IPA's out there. A hands down favorite for the serious IPA drinker. Sharp, citrus nose - orange, passion/grape fruit with a hint of lemon zest. Bright, bitter, hoppy aroma. First sip is sharp hops with a front of bitter orange/lemon peel. On the palate it is hoppy, hoppy, hoppy!!! Not for the faint of heart - definately not a beer to introduce one to IPA's. You might have the urge to chew with the mouthfeel that this brew produces. The finish is crisp followed by a warm, hop bite. It warms and the nose sharpens a bit, yet, mellows as you finish the glass. At 7.7% abv this IPA is best enjoyed with a hearty meal. Perfect beverage with a nicely seasoned steak."
