Stone Smoked Porter is dark, rich and complicated. A porter is substantially darker than a pale ale, but not aw black or opaque as a stout. Our smoked Porter has a captivatingly deep mahogany color, complimented by silky dark tan head. Rich, full bodied and robust. Smooth, with chocolate and coffee like flavors balanced by the subtle "smokey" character of just the right amount of peat-smoked specialty malt.

"Fantastic! Pours black as night with a decent tan head. Aroma has a bit of scotch. Mouthfeel is smoke. Flavor is smoke (in a good way). Nice, nice, nice, nice, nice."

"Purchased at Trader Joe's in Nashville. Pours a dark brown colour with red highlights. Big foamy head that is beige, has great retention and full lacing. Roasted malt scent that is not too strong and a little yeast. Notes of raisins and coffee. No smoke in the aromas, but in the taste, it comes out a bit. Not much, but it lingers in the aftertaste. The roasted malt is there, and so is the mild coffee and light bitterness. Kind of a short finish, and dry. Overall, pretty good, but was expecting a kick in the teeth. Oh well (a first for Stone Brewing... being from Canada - and heard so much from this brewery)."

"Alley Kat hang your head in shame this is what a smoked porter should be like!!!!!! Awesome brew. Brown body with a minimal cap a very standard looking beer. Aroma is a pleasant smoke with burnt malts and some chocolate, the smoke is perfect its strong enough to let you know this a smoked porter but it doesn’t over power the rest of the elements. Taste is much of the same nice burnt to a chocolate malt profile with great smoke presence. You can tell this is a high quality porter that they added smoke to not just a crap porter they tried to dress up. There are even hints of hops the give a light pine flavor in the finish. Good beer easy to drink."

"Pours from the tap dark and rich with a foamy tan head. Medium-bodied and smooth, mild aroma and flavors; milk chocolate with only a hint of smoked malt and a too thin finish. Nice but understated and unremarkable. MUSIC: "Smokey Taboo" by CocoRosie -"Somedays you're like an anchor on my heart... Yeah I'm afraid of sharks, but not the dark"

"Maybe I just got a bad batch or something, but this is a poor beer IMHO. I mean it is beautiful and the aroma is great, but it tasted like water with some liquid smoke added. Actually, come to think of it, I believe that would taste better. Finish is medicinal."
