First brewed in 2007 as Stone 11th Anniversary Ale, this beer was an instant hit. With us. Other folks with great taste loved it too, but we were focused on how much we liked it, and we felt it was truly sublime. That euphoria didnt last long though, as it was soon replaced with the grim reality that when we sold out of it there wouldnt be any more. For Us. And that was simply unacceptable. So, we are now blessing ourselves, and you the enlightened, with this beer on a full time basis.. Thusly, you may now revel in your own self righteousness as you see fit with this glorious example of ours. You are genuinely welcome, as it is our pleasure.

"I do seem to be having some issues with this whole Black IPA thing. Doesn't sound right. So that's what I'm coming up with when I rate this bier. Black as shit. Black shit. Poter like on the nose. HEavily roasted malts. Burnt coffee grounds. And basically no hops. How can you call this an IPA?"

"SAmpled at Mondial: Deep rich brown with massive tan cap. Aromas are like an IPA-Stout mutant: Rich Cocoa-coffee roast over grapefruit-pine,,,gets more pungent as it warms. Rich malt body, silken mouth feel. Big chewy roasty malts are balanced with citrus peel an resinous pinet hopping, goes wickedly dry in the finish with a touch of anise. Great big beer."

"Pours a deep, opaque chocolaty brown with a thick, fine-bubbled, light tan head that hangs around for a bit. Aroma is strongly hoppy and has a hint of spice. Fiercely hoppy flavor makes drinking this beer like drinking a pine tree; it is fairly bitter but not ferociously so. Thick and silky smooth texture leaves a nice tingle and a hint of honey sweetness."

"This is another uniquely different brew from the people at Stone. Ebony colored body. Big frothy tan head. Not a whole lotta hange time. Though settles into some nice soapy lacing. Big scent of grassy hops. Properly carbonated. Heavily bodied and keen smoothness. Now it is the taste that surprises. And it is not for the faint of heart. The alcohol kicks and the hops, grassy, floral, citrus and pine are in your face. No holding back. Let it warm and it tones down a bit"
