With 5.6% ABV, it wouldn’t take too many Old Peculiers for you to start feeling the effects! It’s a grown-up beer for grown-up drinkers – and it demands just a little respect. As with anything, moderation is the name of the game. Tasting notes: The beer that made Masham famous – rich, dark and smooth-tasting, with a character all its own. Brewed using the traditional Fuggle hop, Old Peculier is our
best known beer and has a large and enthusiastic following all over Britain and around the world.

"An opaque reddish brown beer. The tannish-white head is robust and creamy. It has good hang time settling slowly into a nice lacing. The aroma is a cornucopia floral hops, alcohol, coffee and a touch of caramel. The mouthfeel is of a thick, oily liquid. The flavoring is more to the bittering than the subtle hints of toasted grain. I liked this one for it’s well blended complexity."

" This beer poured a dark brown color with a thin head. It had a mild aroma with a heavy body and flavors of caramel and raisin. Had a complex flavor overall, but everything was well balanced."

"Well whoever named this one certainly hit the nail on the head. It poured a dark amber hued body with a thin tan head, fair amount of lacing left. The flavor is a combo of oak, molasses, toasted nuts, and fruit, it is sweet going down but there is a touch of bitterness. A very pecuiar beer indeed."

"A perfect pour. Great head and wonderfully thick. Good flavor - a slight nuttiness. If you're looking for something a little - um Peculiar - this is it. Not to be disappointed."

"Single bottle poured into my pint glass and allowed to rest and warm up for a while. I've been slowly sipping on this beer, and have found it to be very enjoyable. Moderately calm aroma of roasted malt and molasses. Burnt amber color with a small lasting tan head and some decent lacing. Full and very creamy on the palate. Smooth with a nice strong finish. Classic Old Ale flavors of burnt, stale malts. A touch bitter along with a residual sweetness. Nuts, coffee, brown sugar, and mild chocolate notes. Very flavorful and all around enjoyable."
