"Bottle. Poured an amber color with a nice thick white head. A ton of lacing. Aroma is very powerful and hoppy. Very nice mouthfeel for an IIPA. Flavor is really hoppy, but not overpowering (in a good way). This is a very tasty beer, with a nice citrus kick to it and a pleasant aftertaste. Quite possibly my second favorite IIPA (after Hopslam)."

"Sampled bottle, RBNAG 2007 in Grimstad. Orange colour. Intensely hoppy aroma and flavour. Another example of overkill. The flavour is just too unbalanced for me."

"Nice amber color with a small, off-white head. Spicy nose. Incredibly delicate hop character, sweetish almost honey-like with loads of caramel. Bitter not only in the finish -all the way through. Delicious."

"Been waiting a few weeks for the proper time to open up this bomber, and after today's superlative golf round, I felt the time was right. Now that I've opened it, I'm sorry to say, it's not the ambrosia of the Gods I'd expected. Don't get me wrong, it's a fine IIPA (which I also compare below with certain APA's) with a lot going for it, but I've had better (more on that later). It looks great in the glass... a hazy orange to amber color, with a decent white head and snail tracks of lacing all round. Aroma is great too, but doesn't match Leinie's Big Eddy or Lagunita's 13, IMO. Very floral, with orange citrus. In the mouth it coats and clings nicely, and the carbonation level is about perfect. It's rated at 100 IBU's? That surprises me, because I've had APA's and IIPA's with more modest IBU levels that seemed to provide a much fuller hoppiness. Flavor is hopped, yes, but not aggressively so, and in that regard, I'd suggest a Weyerbacher 11or Double Simcoe, Victory Hop Wallop, or a Troeg's Nugget Nectar, if it's hops you crave. It's balanced well, with the sweet malt mitigating the hop and creating a pleasant overall flavor, but for the epitome of such balance, try a Williamsburg AleWerks Drake Tail Ale. The elevated 9.5% ABV is well hidden, I will acknowledge that. This beer is, as 'ante' points out, "World-class", but there's a lot of competition in this style, and IMO, this is as others have said, somewhat overrated. I like it plenty good, but for style and value, I'll opt for an Ale Asylum Hoppalicious or a Tyranena Stickin It To The Man any day. "

"This is not one of my favourites. It pours a hazy orange reminiscent of some wheat styles. The aroma is a mixture of hoppy tones with some sweet tones (peaches and mango). Sligtly thick in the mouth that goes down quite well with the taste of malt and hops."
