"The mixed-up DIPA on DIPA night. Ratyed highly by some, and very low by others. The citrusy, piney aroma made up for the weak golden orange colour. The hop whallop fell short in the tongue though. Not hoppy enough in my opinion."

"compared to Hopslam? Not even close. Maybe this had some age on it. It tasted like it did, which tempered down the flavor and aromatic qualities of the hops, and left the bitterness and malty backbone, leaving it as a pretty good but way overated strong ale. disapponited in this one, just a bit."

"22 oz bottle (thanks to a trade) into a Duvel tulip.
Poured a cloudy orange with a one-finger head. Lacing was thinner but hung around throughout. Good carbonation was evident. Taste was a nice progression, with a hop hit, orange, mango and licorice up front and a peppery, spicey finish with dry bitterness (not unpleasant). Mouthfeel was creamy, oily and medium or even thinner. The 9.5% isn't obvious in any aspect. This IS an interesting beer and tasty for sure. Not my favorite DIPA but a really good one for sure."

"So happy to finally have the opportunity to try this. Pour is dark gold with a creamy white head that leaves a lot of lacing. Aroma and taste are like a fruit salad--oranges, mangos, pineapple and some floral notes. Oily, thick mouthfeel and bitter finish. This is an excellent beer! "

"This is my first encounter with a Three Floyds beer and it’s pretty great. It’s a big, sweet, citrusy/floral DIPA with good hop resin bite. The beer pours a deep gold with little head but lots of lacing. The smell is thick with clementines, limes and floral hops. The flavor is similarly great. The hop flavor is very strong nearly to the point of having a solvent character. The malt is still quite sweet adding an excellent caramel character. The hops taste strongly of oranges, sweet and citric. The defining characteristic with DIPAs for me is the bitterness level and Dreadnaught is within the optimum range for me. The mouthfeel is oily and thick without being cloying. "
