Mead is fermented with honey and has a long, colourful history. In fact, it is the oldest recorded fermented beverage known to man. This is a Braggot mead which combines fermented honey and barley malt with fruit juices. A delicate pink colour, raspberry mead is quite dry with a hint of tart raspberry juice.

"Bottle:
Don’t know whether I got a bottle of cleaning sludge from the fermenter or not.
No red color to this...I got a cloudy, roily looking plae straw colored liquid with a instantly disappering cap.
The "aroma" is more like a "reek" or stench: Strong fetid- musty(mildew) smells and thick fusil alcohol with vinigar-like sourness...I think I got some cleaning fluids from the fermentor!
The taste was not mush different from the smell....astringet vinegar tastes with some artificial berry tastes, thick fusils and a nasty yeast taste.
Sink- pour and the last anything I buy from this brewer. I think this drink can go the match with Steelback Tango as the most offensive malt beverage on the market."

"I hate to make this review while being so inexperienced with mead. Im glad to have waited well into my beer tastings before starting to review. My knowledge, appreciation and tastes changed (and still are changing) the more I understood and sampled different styles of beer from different parts of the world. Our selection of mead in this province is limited to these Trafalgar thus I have no real basis for comparison, nor much experience to fall back on, but that being said...
I enjoyed the raspberry. A genuine fruity taste who's soft flavour lent nicely to a very paletable mouthfeel. Texture was sweet, nectar like (the honey I suppose) that gave the drink some character. Both aroma and flavour made for a very lively and tasty drink. "

"I'm not sure what to say about this. I sampled six bottles and it was one of those drinks that got better as I went along. But having said that, I'll be the first to admit that I'm not that familiar with this style so I'm not sure how this compares, but overall it was an interesting brew, better than the "fruit beer" style. I would definetly try more of this style again."
