Unibroue launched this beer in June 1996. It is a golden beer with a slightly fruity nose and a pleasant warming character. Because of its in-bottle refermentation, Eau Bénite reaches 7.7 % alcohol. Unibroue has thus developed a beer offering the characteristics of a triple-fermentation beer, but with a lower alcohol content.

"Ahhhh... Is this the point where I finally start craving Trips? Dammit, this is awesome.
Well, most of the bottle has already found its proper place in my liver. I can barely type. This is the 4th time I've edited it due to just brutal typing skills. Poured out a decent white, foamy cap with some patchy lacing... beer is probably hazy gold hard to tell at this point. Lots of effervecence. (yes, i have no idea how to spell that properly tonight). The aroma is very fruity - pineapples are the most dominant. How often can one say that? Pineapples? Killer! Bread and musty scents, something quite fragrant - no distinguishable spice at this point. The taste is just excellent! Soft, smooth, subdued spices mixed in with a nice musty taste that blends in with a faceless fruitiness. This beer is excellent. I am not a fan of Belgian Trips so the fact that this is a mild version of one really works in my favour. Smooth all the way through, soft spice finish. Man, Iove this stuff. This is not the best tripel I've had but I'm not sure that I have enjoyed one so fully before."

"This beer pours a hazy straw golden colour with a white head. The aroma is malty, yeasty, and some floral scents. This is a highly carbonated beer. The flavour is malt, some spice, and a nice hoppy finish. Very smooth and very drinkable."

"Body appears yellowy cloudy beige and a think rocky noisy cap sits on top, the retention is phenomenal and leaves behind thick layers of lacing. Aroma is sour wheat, orange maybe, yeast, mild spice and floral notes, smells ok nothing great but it’s very acceptable. Very wheaty taste that’s mildly sour, a soapy alcohol flavour comes through in the finish. The mouth feel is medium bodied with a sparkling carbonation feel. Beer is now warming and a banana flavour is showing through along with mild lemon pepper, the after taste is clean and sweet. This tastes like your typical Unibroue but is a little lighter flavoured and easier drinking. I’m enjoying this and would buy it again."

"Hazy nutbrown colour, small white head. Aroma is nuty, yeasty, caramellish, banana and spices. Flavour is fruit, spices, yeast, slight malts and hops. Alcohol gives a warming sting in the flavour also. "
