"bought after the beer meeting - $96 later ... Golden, big fluffy head, lacing : grade A+ ... bitter, sweet, flavourful, beehive, delicious ...like a hoppppy tripppel .. ABV is well hidden ... does the dutch proud ... 'i wouldn't leave the bar if i could find this on tap' .. just an enjoyable brew, but the hophead in me says 'more hops!'"

"Pours a light orange or peach color with a relatively thick off-white head that does settle down to a thin foamy layer. Still some nice lacing on my Chimay glass. The aroma is quite subtle with some yeast, citrus fruits and a grassy or straw scent. This is tangy tasting with a citrus zing, some yeast and spicy hops. Very smooth and enjoyable with a full enough mouthfeel. There's a touch of alcohol in the finish but it is nicely balanced and considering it's 9.5% I'd call it very mild. I recommend giving this one a try! "

[3] Review by staleyiv from Newnan, GA, USA who has tried this beer a couple times. (3/18/2008 10:39:32 PM)
"Aroma is light and airy with some saaz aroma and apples and sweetness with some yeasty overtones as well as some spice and is very interesting. Appearance is a golden yellow in color when held to the light with a full head on top that is well-carbonated and fuzzy and leaves fine lacing on the glass that is a bleach-white. Mouthfeel is light to medium-bodied with yeasty complexity as well as balance with a palate that is dry-like but very satisfying. Flavor is bitter with saaz dryness as well as some Belgian funk with an aftertaste that is of crisp and fresh apple with some creamy notes and a finish that is clean and offering some very slight caramelization and some tartness. Overall, a well-hopped Belgian strong ale here offering some very complex flavors and is very good."

"Wow! What a great Belgian ale. I can't sya enough about the mouthfeel and delicate taste. Pours a pale yellow with a great long lasting head. Aroma leaves a bit to be desired but it is more than made up for by the taste. Apples and fruit. Light and airy. Goes strait to your head. "

"Pours a nice opaque dark honey golden with a VERY thick and persistent head - it is thicker than B.S. in Washington and stays better than whipping cream on hot coco. Aroma is strong and mainly malty with a touch of sweetness and a strong hop undertone. Flavor balances hop and malt components, with a little malt sweetness and some hop fruitiness, and a touch of bitter. This is a very drinkable and enjoyable ale."
