"Pours a slightly cloudy, brownish amber color with a foamy, egg shell colored head. Sweet malts and with a good bit of citrusy, hop notes on the nose. Wow! The mix of malts and hops is quite impressive. Starting with the malts and citrus hops and ending with a wonderful bitter finish. The alcohol is extremely well hidden. Somewhat reminiscent of Victory's Yakima Twilight, but with more malt and less hops. I'm pretty new to the style, but this is one tasty brew. Recommended for hop and malt lovers alike. "

"A deep cloudy orange, brown-tinged ale. A big frothy, light beige head rises above. And it stays around for awhile. Left behind is a thick lacing. I get a balance of caramel, grassy hops and dark fruits in the nose. It has a thick, syrupy body. A sweet ale with warming alcohol in the finishing. ENJOYABLE.

"Pours out in a deep reddish amber colour with a small bubbly off-white head. Rich and really potent aroma of figs, plue plums, resin, dried apricots, flowers, brandy and peppery alcohol. Full-bodied with notes of flowers, blue plums, figs, oranges, black currant, grapefruit and alcohol. Long warming finish of sweet blue grapes, blue plums, raisins, grapefruit, mild resin and alcohol. Heck, quite a masterpiece, this!

"Bottle: cellared 1.5 yrs.
Decants a reddish brown lightly gazed, small sticky cap leaves quickly.
Aromas of musty citrus and toffee.
After more than a year in cold cellaring the hops are not a sharp as a fresh sample but still have a solid citrus-peel presence but the vinous complexity of the malts and esters comes up...wonderful complexity that defies description as it changes every sip as the ale warms.
One of the best micro barley wines....hoppy, complex,.heady without the alcoholic burn to the tongue."
