Like many wheat beers, has a honey color to it and is a bit cloudy. It has a sharper but lighter aroma than other wheats.

"Bottled. import, 3 weeks old.
Lovely clouded orange-gold with a massive meringue head, great retention, massive lacing.
Aroma: much like Schneider weissbier without the dried fruit tones ...this is the original hefeweiss yeast and we get juicy fruits, banana, clove, vanilla bean, a bit of bubblegum over some sweet doughy malts.
Dry character, moderate body, great peppery mouth feel, a tad spritzy but not as pronounced as bottle conditioned wheats, great blend/balance of fruit-spice-dry toasty wheat....dry clean finish...wonderfully refreshing beer, very drinkable...can’t wait to taste it unpasteurized on tap.
Better tasting than Schneider, Paulaner, Hacker-P, Augustiner, Schöfferhofer,Andechser...and probably better than Ayinger when fresh...cummon you know it!"

"Billed as the oldest brewery in the world, the beer smelled like the oldest beer in the world. Very rank smell....not at all appetizing. The hazy golden colour reminded me of a good wheat beer after I got past the smell. The flavour was a little tart for a wheat beer. Not a lot of the spiciness present in other wheat beers."

"great refreshing mid afternoon bier, or for a nice beer on a hot day, first a rush of citrus upon first touch to the tongue, then a very nice follow through as a very nice aftertaste follows. great pour head, remember to leave a few ounces in the bottle to swirl to get the rest of the flavor from the settling at the bottom of the bottle. highly recomended bier!!
case of pints +1 ounce runs about 55-70 $ depending on where you buy it from."

"500ml bottle
5.4% ABV
I tried this beer on May 31, 2008 after purchasing from the Queen's Quay LCBO outlet in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a hazy orange colour with a generous bubbly head. The aroma was mild wheat, some hops, and some spiciness with a malty feel. The mouthfeel was medium bodied, slippery, with a lot of carbonation. The flavour was sweet and spicy with wheaty, malty, and soime fruit tones in the mix."

"Pours a bright golden color with a huge, long-lasting, fluffy head. Aroma is light citrusy fruits, yeasty, with some malt. The beer looks good and also tastes good. The flavor is bananas, cloves, with some wheaty malts, perhaps a touch grassy, with some spices as well. Light and refreshing but a well-rounded hefe. If this isn't the best hefe I've ever had it's definitely close! "
