"Poured a slightly cloudy gold-light amber with a decent chunky cap that lasted about 10 min. then laced out.
Subtle hints of sweet malts, clover honey and grains with an ever so slight hint of flowery hops.
Starts with a tang of effervescence on the tongue then builds to a medium-light body accented with detectable maltiness and a pleasant residual honey pronouncement...then the let down... the finish is rather thin and uneventful with a slight hop bittering but the overpowering accent is a sour yeasty type of taste that mingles with the weakish hop bitters and stays on the tongue long after the brew has gone down.
This is an odd one. Looks good, smells promising, starts pleasantly enough but finishes with some "off" tastes that don't seem to complement each other... nor do they seem right in a quality brew.
This may be to some other's tastes but I didn't like the ale hop (golding)ale-like bittering combined with the sour mash taste at the end....not my type of brew but good for a change. I won't cry if Wellington takes it out of production. I think this quality brewer is going the wrong direction with the realese of weak ale-like lagers for the low end draft/bottle market.

"Not bad. Crispy and malty, but a tad watery. And this is rather swillish, putting it more in the Lakeport and PBR Honey category. Also, like most swills, should be sampled out of the bottle as out of the glass it's very weak. "

"Second honey lager review (for a Ontario, Canada brew) for tonight. Poured a golden colour with a head that dissipated quite quickly. Could smell aromas of sweetness and grass. Lightly carbonated compared to the Lakeport version. Medium sweet taste of honey to start with, and then has a dry finish. This beer is now called Beehive. This is part of there lower brand selection (with the other being Trailhead lager). The rest of their beers are higher standard, and rock over this one."
