Fast on the heels of our fantasticly reformulated Hops Infusion, our brewers have picked up the guantlet and brewed a Double IPA using exclusively Simcoe(R) Hops! This west coast Hops was created in 2000 by Select Botanicals, Inc. and carries a fantastic flavor profile abounding with citrusy-grapefruit, piney, resiny notes that pushes this Double IPA over the top. 9.0% ABV in the brew gives it a nice malt foundation as well. Draft and bottles, 12 oz. in PA, 22 oz. out of state (as we have no 6-packs),

"Whew! What a lotta hops The reddish hued beer has a hint of orange when the glass is held up to the light. The head is impressive. A frothy white, it is robust and stucj around for a long time, settling into a soapy lacing. There is a creaminess in the mouthfeel, though of a thin-medium body. Hops of citrus, florals and pine hit the nose head on. The taste is just as the nose warns with some pepper added for good measure. Drink this one at room temperature and you’ll come back for another. "

"This beer poured with a deep amber colored body topped off by a medium sized and rocky light beige head that left light lace down the glass. The aroma is rich floral hops with some light caramel malt. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and smooth. The flavor is bright floral hops with plenty of orange peel and other subtle citrusy flavors coming though as well."

"Impressive. Pours an amber/brown color with a thick off-white head and by the time I was finished there was lacing all over the glass. Big grapefruit and piney hoppy flavors and a bit of green leaf. Nice crisp hop bitterness. Finishes tart and a little dry. Real solid malt base that thickens this thing up but doesn't over-do it. Very nice and I can definitely see myself drinking this one often. "

"WOW!!!This beer has such a powerful aroma it reminds me of running barefoot in the clover, sans the bumblebees. I do love simcoe hops, and you better love it too, or you won't like this beer.It is a bit bitter, yet balanced and substantial. "The pour has a fine carbonation and a nice amber head that produces a nice lace after a couple of sips. Aroma of grapefruit/pineapple, citrus hoppiness, very nice reddish/pale amber color, minimal filtering, a lot of hopp trub present in the ale, smooth ballanced tasty beer. One note, has a somewhat metalic finish, without this flaw in the finish, this beer would be an exceptional example of an IPA. A bit pricey for a 4pack @ $9.00."
