"A wry take on IPA". Intensely hoppy, distinctly spicy.

"12oz bottle, dated 9/27/11. Pours a slightly hazy copper amber with a medium creamy off white head that goes to a thin film and laces the glass.
The aroma is tropical fruits and rye with some bready malt.
The flavor is sweet tropical fruits and some cardboard notes with some slightly spicy rye and a medium grassy bitterness in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with slightly sharp carbonation.
Overall, an OK IPA. The flavors didn't mesh well to me and it seemed slightly off. "

"Another solid beer from Widmer. Pours a dark copper with an ample white head. Plenty of malt to balance out the piney and grapefruity hops. Not as much rye in the taste as I would have liked but, nonetheless, a quality IPA."

"Sampled on 12/24/2011. This IPA pours a medium to dark amber brown color from a 12oz bottle. Medium sized white rocky foamy head with nice retention and good lacing. The aroma is caramel, fruity and sweet, piney and grapefruity hops. A medium bodied India Pale Ale. The malts are caramel, fruity and sweet. The hops are citrusy and piney. A touch of rye. Decent carbonation. A medium to high bitterness IPA. Nice solid IPA. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is bitter. "
