"Nice looking one liter flip top bottle complete with cherries hanging from a ribbon around the neck of the bottle. Brew pours pretty much black with a thick creamy cap that reduced to a skiff after a couple of min, the edges of the glass turned ruby red when held to the light. Aroma was milder than I expected it to be cherries, some warm alcohol, and roast malts come through but not all that strongly. Taste is also simple and mild the cherry taste comes through but its not overpowering the taste like some others of this same style. Mostly non aggressive roasted malts hints of coffee and chocolate and finishes sort of chalky I guess. Very drinkable brew, it doesn’t overpower you and it leaves you wanting more I would easily drink this again. "

"1 liter flip cap Jug, 1 week fresh from the Brewey. Poured a clear ruby-mahogany color with a small off white cap that goes fast to a ring...softly carbonated. Nose is interesting...coffee and cherry coke. Taste was a surprise these two tastes do marry if they are not over done..there was just enough real cherry taste to compliment the coffee and charred malt tastes giving a tart roasty cherry cola decernment. This variaton on a porter works.

"Had been looking for this since I saw Cherry Porter listed on the website as Wild Rose's Winter seasonal. Packaged in their trademark 1 litre fliptop bottles with Christmas decoration ribbon and cherries attached. Pours a deep brown that is dark even when viewed up to the light, light tan head. Bubbly foam that shrank away but left nice lacing. First aroma is roasted coffee. Taste is of dark caramel and chocolatey malt that ends with a hint of sour cherries. Although quite faint, the cherry flavor does grow after the first taste, but is not overpowering. Fruit flavor and aroma compliments the dark porter rather than takes over. Very enjoyable, got the whole bottle to myself."
