"Stopped in at Wild Rose after work and was happy to see another special offering on tap, (too bad I missed the pilsner).
Poured into a tall Wild Rose logoed glass, this is a light brown color, topped with a short white head. The creamy foam had good retention and left thin trails of lace.
Nice grainy malt smell. The flavor was similar, with some natural sweetness from the toasted malt. This was balanced by some slight hop bitterness. Clean and slightly dry finish. Maybe not as dark and malty as some other marzens, but nothing worth complaining about.
Well carbonated to give it a creamy smooth mouthfeel.
It was a warm and sunny day, and they had the front of the brewery opened up to create a patio and enjoy the sun. A great setting to enjoy a well made brew.
A nicely made example of the style, a good transition for those who might be new to Wild Rose beers."
