This beer has the deep, rich almost black color one expects in a stout. Its taste is smooth and pleasant, but also complex due to the combination of several types of malt and grain. Oats enhance the creaminess and give the head its staying-power, as well as contributing to the nut-like character of the aftertaste. The depth of both color and taste are enhanced by the use of roasted barley and chocolate malt.

"Pours with a dark brown body topped by a light brown, medium thick head with some lacing. It’s sour and smokey with a little matly sweetnessa and little else. Medium bodied and dry."
