"Much nicer on tap then in bottle, like most bitters. Nice colour and alot of creamy white head. Decent flavour, but a very light taste for a bitter with a caramelish attack but a little bitter on the finish. "

"One of the few beers I'm not too proud to say I had whilst in the U.K. Nitro-can? Bah... But this was cheap at the Londis store in Tywardreath, Cornwall, so I decided to give it a spin around the block.
Pretty much exactly what I expected, to be honest. The nitro "widget" (sp.?) injects the beer with a CO²/N² mix -- and thus strips away much of the beer's aroma, and deadens the mouthfeel. Maybe I'm confused, but isn't the aroma and the mouthfeel supposed to be the key advantages to the English Bitter style? After all, we're only talking about 3.6%ABV -- so this isn't a beer that one gets to get their buzz on, eh?
So, with minimal alcohol, minimal hop aroma, and minimal mouthfeel, what do we have left? Not a whole lot, not surprisingly. Adequate flavor profile I suppose, though there's really no telling what sort of hops were used in this beer. It's all muddied-up and dumbed-down by the Nitro, IMO....
Next time, I'll simply save my ~£1.25 to go towards a pint of something fresher and tastier off the hand-pump at The New Inn across the street from Tywardreath's Londis store. `Cause this simply does not cut it in my book....

"I tried this at a pub in London along Southampton Row. It had a reddish color with lots of foam around the top. The taste was fairly smooth and enjoyable on a hot day."

"(Bottle, bought in Denmark). Deep amber (okay, chestnut) colour, moderate head. Too much CO2 for a bitter. Moderate aroma of toffee/caramel and malts, hints of dried fruits / fruitcake. Flavour is malty with a reasonable bitterness, finish is a bit watery. Easy drinking, nice enough - but nothing special either.
