"Pours a mahogany brown with a short-lived head leaving some nice lacing. Very good carbonation. Aromas of sweet roasted malts with some nuts and toffee then hops. Taste is very balanced with the malts of front with a sweet roastedness then delicate hops. Very nice - I will drink this again."

"wow, this beer really kinda sucked .... really failed in every department with the expectation of some good lacing ... holly hunter is a whore ... smells of odd old oil and burnt rainforest ... has a dirty taste to it ... bootsey threw up like ... a crappy brew.."

"This was a unique beer. It was superbly balanced and tasted the same from beginning to end. The texture was smooth and heavy and the dominant flavor for me was bitter chocolate. It was a VERY nice beer. The best part about it, however, was the color - absolutely opaque. Moreover, the head was about 2 inches thick."

"A beer from South America that doesn't suck and it's not a pale lager? Amazing. With all sincerity, this is a really nice beer, let alone a really nice schwarzbier. I've had two schwarzbier's recently that were both really tasty, and that's always a good thing. A sweet, caramel-like malty aroma, with a very light roasted note. Looking at it you'd think you'd get huge coffee notes but it wasn't to be. Excellent color, with a fantastic three finger thick tan head. Flavors melded nicely with chocolate malts, black walnuts, and a bit of molasses. Nice beer, no matter where it's from. "

"Pours black with a nice thick tan head. Good lacing. 2 finger thick head. Good retention. Aroma is of roasted chocolate malts and molasses. Tastes Roast malt with a bitterness resembling unsweetened chocolate. Pretty much the same as the aroma.
