Zwettler Dunkles erhält seine typische Färbung durch die Verwendung dunklerer Malzsorten und ist mit 11,2 Grad Stammwürze und 3,4 % Vol.Alkohol ein echtes Vollbier.
Der „Kraftspender“ Zwettler Dunkles glänzt durch dichtes Dunkelrot und duftet nach Dörrpflaumen und Kaffee. Mit zurückhaltender Kohlensäure lässt es die intensive Süße malziger Karamelltöne voll zur Geltung kommen.

"Very thin, watery mouthfeel with next to no body. Exceedingly sweet in taste, it's like drinking a glass of sugar water with brown food coloring added to it. Some maltiness is present in the nose and flavor, very little in the way of aftertaste. Not sure what the brewer was going for with this beer, but it was bad by design not due to contamination, oxidation, etc..."
