This is the original beer from Ecaussinnes. 7% alcohol. It is spiced, but you don't really taste the spices. Nice amber colour, lightly caramelised with a light bitter taste at the end. A very nice beer, recommended by Michael Jackson.

"Bottle: Poured a deep amber/orangey color ale with a big foamy head with some good retention and lacing. Aroma of Belgian malt with some light spices. Taste is somewhat bland with some semi-sweet Belgian malt with some light spices and a subtle yeasty finish. Body is fuller then average with some great carbonation. Overall, I thought this was OK for an amber ale but definitely lacking some complexity for me to come back to this one again."

" Hazy orange colour, big huge creamy off-white head. Aroma is nutty and quite toffeeish with some hints of malts. Flavour is nuts, sweet malts and some yeasty hints. A rather pleasant and refreshing thing. "

"Best before 22/03/2010. This Belgian Strong Ale pours a medium amber color from a 300ml bottle. Large sized white foamy head. Aroma is strongly bready and yeasty. A medium bodied Belgian Strong Ale. Malts are very cookie, with some fruitiness (mangos and melons). Slightly sweet but balanced by a crisp dry finish. A touch of floral hops are there as well. Very drinkable Belgian Amber. There is a definite alcohol and woody flavor at the finish. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is crisp and dry. Aftertaste is slightly sweet with a touch of alcohol. "

"A clear amber tan with a large soupy head. Funky. Perhaps brett. A bit of apple. A touch of grape. A bit on the dry side. This was noticeably funkier on the yeast side of the flavor and aroma than the brune was."

"Pours a cloudy orange with a thin white head. Noticable lacing on the glass. Lots of suspended chunks of "lords-knows-what-hopefully-goodness". Aromas of something smokey. Flavors of spice and fruit. Mouthfeel is full with a bit of spice/alcohol bite. Finish is dry. All around this is just fine and worthy of a try."
