View Rochester Mills MilkShake Stout (Crème de Menthe)
Chopz reviewed the beer Rochester Mills MilkShake Stout (Crème de Menthe)
Oh nice !! Smells like After Eight chocolate mints, so nice for this time of year - Christmas and all. Pours a dark brown colour, hazy, with copper highlights, a beige head that is fizzing away leaving only a small collar. Aromas of chocolate and fake mint. The mouthfeel as other brews of this series of Milkshake stouts is pretty thin. The taste is mild with chocolate and roasted malts. The minty freshness lingers on the tongue. I probably prefer this one of the series, as not rich, but re-freshing.

I'm surprised. Innis & Gunn usually lets me down. Sweet but tasty. lots of flavour going on but without the looks. Gave it 7 for appearance because it's black. Rich flavour of dark fruits, chocolate, vanilla, oak, red licorice, slightly metalic, and subdued bourbon. Roasted malt is present but not too strong. Fruity and rusty aroma. A little thin with the mouthfeel considering the bold flavour. A tad sweet.
