Deep Cover Brown Ale is brewed in the tradition of the brown ales commonly enjoyed in the U.K. Despite its reddish-brown color, it is light bodied and slightly sweet, making it a very drinkable and refreshing brew. Dark caramel malts lend this ale its rich color, while toasted and Munich malts provide just enough body to be truly enjoyable.

I know a few Navy guys and this is what they would refer to as a "Mark I, Mod 0" brown ale - the very basic model. Its really hard to be very descriptive because its about what one would expect with a standard brown ale - no better or worse than most any other. decent beer, but no standout.

tasted on 10/30/09 12oz bottle with beerguy101. bottled on smudgy 2003? light brown color, quickly receding thin white head. aroma is malty and slightly sweet. oxidized, but it works here. taste is malty and caramel. everything has kind of mellowed. a nice brown ale. mouthfeel is med. aftertaste is lightly sweet.

I liked this beer a lot. Wasn't anything to write home about, but a very good overall beer, especially if looking for a "lighter" dark beer. Appears a medium-dark brown, a little darker than amber, but has a thin density. Not very syrupy at all like some of the other brown ales or honey beers. Still has a good sweet taste like caramel and malts...very little hops in the flavor but just enough to notice.

The aroma is very malty with sweet overtones with some figs coming through and is earthy-like with maybe some slight bitter. The appearance is a nice, crisp red burgundy to brown in color with not much of a head on top and dissipates leaving decent lacing on the glass. The mouthfeel is medium-bodied and of complex maltiness with some good balance with a pallet that is wet-like and coats well. The flavor is very malty with some bitter coming through and is almost bready with an aftertaste that is refreshing and smooth and malty with maybe some bitter hoppiness with a finish that is nice and not too bad and is wet-like and pretty tasty.

This was a very basic and average Brown ale. The Brown From Avery puts this one to shame. That being said there is nothing wrong with this beer. There is just nothing great about it. Very sweet and a bit too malty. Not balanced.

Clear dark brown colour with a low white foam. Clean aroma of toasted malts, nuts, grass and berries. Toasted malts, dark bread and berries in the clean flavour. Medium bitter finish of nuts and toasted malts. Uhum...

Poured from a bottle with a plain brown color with a nice malty aroma. The taste was much like the aroma, rich and malty with a nice smooth taste. Decent stuff from Lefthand.

Bottled. Deep amber colour, not much head. Aroma is caramel, earth, some roast and big time malts. Flavour is earth, caramel a lot of malts and some slight metallicness. Wellbalanced.

Pours a clear brown colour with a soft white head. Pleasent nutty characteristic. Roasted malt flavors preceded by a soft caramel-honey aroma. overall pretty tastey.

From a bottle. Poured a nice clear brown. Thin white head that disappeared quickly. Nice nutty/malty aroma. Flavor is mild and sweet. Slight bitter aftertaste. A decent brown.
