Friend gave me a couple cans of this from when he went to Costa Rica. They expired one year ago so I will give them a go any ways. Pours a light amber with a 2 finger off white head that takes its time. Well carbonated. Taste is noticeably metallic but does not distract. Malty and slightly sweet with candy sugar. Aftertaste is slightly sweet. Fresh I bet this is a pretty damn good beer.

It pours a bright yellow and golden with thin white head and slight lace. An aroma of corn malts, light hops, lemon and citrus, some tart and mild spice. The mouthfeel is smooth and rich. Flavors of tart malts, hops, lemon, and some spiciness. Very drinkable - a friend brought this back for me on a recent trip to Costa Rica. Now I want to go ...

I have no idea how much of this I drank on my recent trip to Costa Rica. I've had much worse, but in the end, it was pretty standard pale lager. Malty, clean, a little bit of corn. But super refreshing on those humid days under the hot hot sun.

Wow I have never seen a beer in my life so saturated into a market. On a recent trip down to Cost Rica I drank gallons of this stuff one of the reasons in a lot of places this is your only option, you can’t go 10’ without seeing adds for it signs hang out of every bar, restaurant, and store tourists and locals all have Imperial t-shirts hats and towels this stuff is everywhere!! The good thing is its not actually that bad of a beer probably helps I’m getting it fresh from the source. Clear Yellow gold with a tall pillowy cap and the cap stuck around for a long while. Grassy soft aroma some metallic hops and some corn. Very full bodied feel for a pale lager. Flavor is very smooth with no offensive elements at all. Corn, grass, mild mild mild metallic hops goes down smooth, not to sweet, and a clean finish. But for the love of god drink it fast and cold.

Pours a typical clear straw-yellow, but it does have a fairly thick white head that hangs around for a bit. Aroma is not strong but malty. Flavor is fairly malty and has a decent yeasty undertone. Texture is fizzy and lively, this brew's strongest point. Average overall, but drinkable.

Been to Costa Rica 3 times, so this is the beer I mainly drink there. Haven't been there for about 9 years now, so this is based on old memories....maybe the beer has changed slightly but I doubt it. I was also told that they are/were owned by Heineken, so a lot of bars down there also carried Heiny (for about the same price too), so then I started switching it up with Heiny instead. Reminded me sort of a cross between Corona and Heiny (although I think I like them both slightly better). A bit more pale and not as golden as them. Still, a pretty smooth lager. Good for right after a swim in a salty beach in the Pacific. Noticed that they carry Imperial here at my local beer store, but I don't know why anyone would buy it here with a ton of microbrews surrounding.

My friend brought this back from one of his kyacking trips. Light orangish-yellow apple juice/urine color. No head whatsoever. Light flavors, but balanced hops and malt. Absolutlely nothing original or new here, but tasty and refreshing. The flavor was solid and made me wish that America could produce a pale lager with some flavor. I could see drinking large quantities of this on a summer evening and not feel sick or full; a great outdoors-in-the-heat beer.

A buddy from work brought me back 3 cans of this beer from Costa Rica. Pours a hay yellow, head was rather thin and white. Aroma was of corn and skunk. Tastes dry, water, pretty malty yet crisp. Was a below average beer but was better then a bud or bud light. Overall an ok brew.

A picnic among friends and I bring some foreign lagers to sample. Admittedly my first with what I offered. This Costa Rican lager has an impressive label. A pale yellow-golden bodies beer. Decent carbonation, The soapy head is moderate upon pour settling quickly into a ring. Very weak aroma....what there was seemed sweet. I didn't get a lotta hops in the the taste either. A lot of corn in the mash. But it is smooth and refreshing.

As far as pale lagers go, this wasn't entirely bad. I mean you can only do so much with a pale lager and thankfully this didn't have any apparent issues that cause one to gag when drinking this kind of beer. Light grain notes dominate the nose and flavor. Really crisp beer with a clean finish. I can see quite a few of these going really nicely with some spicy food. Not bad actually.
