Pours a mahogany color with a small light tan head and no lace. The aroma is bready malts along with some light dark fruit notes (raisin and fig). The taste follows the aroma, brown bread and some light raisin and fig notes, with some caramel and very light spiciness in the back due to the rye. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

Pours a rich black-sable with a thick and rather persistent tan head. Aroma has a core of roast malt with hints of cloves and caramel. Mainly malty flavor has smoky and woody hoppy notes plus a hint of cloves, none too strong. Texture is the weak point, being a bit watery and not too fizzy. Still, a decent winter ale, worthy of at least a try.

Rusty brown pour with a medium tan head. Mild nutty nose with a light floral aroma in the background. The flavor of this beer was confusing though. Cinnamon, fruit and hops all competing. Miss in my humble opinion.

Mostly clear brown/dark copper/dark amber in color. White head with not much size, retention or lacing. Some burnt orange and yellow highlights around the bottom and sides. The aroma reminded me of some burnt toast and earthy malts. A touch of caramel in the nose also. The taste provideds the burnt toast with some roasted chestnut type flavors. Some earthy malt. Not a whole lot of bitterness present. Not picking up the caramel as much in the flavor. Medium mouthfeel. Mostly crisp, but not leaving much on the palate. Rather smooth also. Dry. This beer is alright. Easily drinkable. I like the burnt toast flavor ok. I could have a few of these with no problem. This could be good in the Fall as well as the Winter.

Bottled@O Haras, Tampere. Deep amber colour, small beige head. Aroma is mild earth, some fruits, grass and some strange dusty notes. Flavour is quite similar. Not that interesting.

A decent winter ale. Brown color pour with a off-white head. Smell of malts and spice. Flavor is slightly nutty, spicey, and sweet. Not a bad brown ale. I would choose Sam Adams winter over this one.

A deep ruby, almost black body, thin head, that didnt leave much lace. Aromas and flavors of sweet caramel, bread, and some fruit. A nice finish, and overall a decent beer.

The "mild" refers to little usage of hops and not a low abv ale per the classical sense of the term. Enjoyed the bottles from a six pack over the course of a week or so, and this malty ale slowly grew on me. Dark amber color with a towering tan head and heavy lacing. Malty nose that smells of an English Ale persuasion. Nuts and biscuits with some mixed berry aromas. Malty with a tangy sweetness and hearty body, finishes a touch dry to my surprise. Tasty malt flavors with accents of bread, toffee, berries, nuts and an organic peaty quality. Best served at cellar temperature.

Pours a red-brown with medium sized tan head. Aroma is slightly malty. Mouthfeel is a little thin. Taste is similar to a brown ale but with a nice, crisp, clean finish. Overall, not bad but just not overly flavorful.
