The Black Damnation series is a dark twist of Urban’s mind. His idea is to realize a dozen beers with the use of Black Albert, and over a period of two years, that are as black as hell, filthy rich in the nose and with a massive taste.<br><br> Black Damnation IV was made with Black Albert that aged for 6 months on very old rum barrels.

Shared 330 ml bottle at local tasting, thanks to gunnar. ABV is 13%. Black colour, minimal brown head. Aroma of cold coffee, hints of woodwork. Intense roasty flavour, quite dry, strong coffee and bittering hops.

Bought this 11.2 ounce bottle, in Amsterdam a few months back at The Cracked Kettle- the last beer buying stop of the trip, top shelf and a ladder later, all mine for 12.50 euro .. .
Pours a deep brown black with fantastic dense head on the pour, settles down nicely.. .
Aroma of coffee, tar, and gods coffee cup..
Amazing complexities in this one, coffee being the main player but chocolate, espresso, tar, more coffee, light rum, and more espresso...

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a large dark dirty brown color head with great retention and good lacing. Complex aroma consists of vanilla, rum with deep roasted malt and coffee notes. Taste is also a complex and extreme mix of vanilla with rum and light oak, some warming and creamy notes are also distinguishable with loads of malt and light roasted note. Body is extremely full with rich creamy notes and alcohol is still well integrated thought it can be felt. Not something I would drink on my own every day but well worth to try and share with others.

Bottled (from Struise Beershop). Quite much pitch black colour with reddish brown fluffy longlasting head. Some slight lace. Aroma is ashes, strong black coffee, some chililike burning notes as well as some wood and alcohol. Mild tobacco as well. Flavour is roasted malts, ashes, some alcohol, mild stinging sweetness, some wood as well as mild notes of soap and burnt wet wood. Also some slight chililike burning notes in there. Good sipping beer, but a bit too sweet for my likes. Also I’m quite amazed to find the palate a bit thin, even though the beer is full with flavours and aromas.
