That classic Hefeweizen character with an intense banana aroma, but with an added smokiness from malts that were home-smoked at the brewery with maple wood (Canadian maple at that!). Simply put, banana pancakes with bacon. Smokin' Banana Peels was designed by brewer Kevin James exclusively for our annual Oktoberfest in Vankleek Hill.

Pours a thin foamy cap but doesn't stay long at all. Has a cloudy straw coloured appearance. Barely any lacing. Aromas of citrus hops, pine, with notes of wheats and grains. Banana flavours don't really come through at first, but once it warms up a bit, you can start noticing it. Pretty mild actually. Much more of a smokey taste to it, hence the name. Also some light citrus hops. Little bit of a tangy mouthfeel. Slight tingling sensation. Medium retention. Not too bad, was expecting something else.

The beer pours a translucent golden yellow with a thin white head. The aroma is wheat malt, and banana. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. Flavour is smoked malt, wheat, and bubblegum. Decent, but nothing groundbreaking or outstanding. -

Bottle - Pours a pale clouded straw color - cap is frothy but small. Aroma is pleasant heffe beer - some clove, sweet fruit (banana), biscuit, no hint of the smoked malts. Flavour is pleasing - fruity,bicuity, dry with just a wisp of smoke in the finish. Pleasant, different.

Awesome !! Another 4-pack mixer of Beau's for Oktoberfest. A smoked-hefe... nice ! Banana - yes, a smoky Rauchbier, not really. Pours a cloudy yellow colour with a creamy white head, decent retention and wet patchy lacing. Lots of banana aromas from the wheat with hints of lemon, making this one a refreshing summer brew. Again the wheat in the taste, but milder. The smokey malt is very, very light. So light, I can hardly taste it. A great beer, just wish I could taste the smokiness more.
