Clear dark ruby, tanned lacing foam head. Hoppy aroma and quite bitter in taste. Do no quite classify this as an amber ale, more dark IPA. Still OK though. (Velp 201704)

Everything points towards a hoppy brown ale. Head quickly ends up as a thin cap. Some lacing left behind. Flavour has a little malt sweetness, with a nutty, caramel character. Big pine and grapefruit hit. Odd kind of hop aroma. Dry bitter finish with a medium mouth feel.

    On tap @ 10 East -

Aroma - pine needles, grassy with some floral hops lurking around

Appearance - clooudy amber body, 3-finger off-white head, good retention, average lacing

Mouthfeel - medium bodied, medium carbonation

Flavor - grapefruity bitterness, medium caramel malts with some cashew like flavors. Finish seems more lemony than anything.

Overall - good hop profile through out the beer, no flaws picked out. Nothing extraordinary, but a good beer.

Comes out of the tap an opaque coffee brown with Avery thick tan head. A amber ale? Aroma is not strong but malty with a hint of caramel. Flavor is far better than what the aroma promises, malty and hoppy with firm caramel, earthy and nutty notes. Firm mouthfeel is quite lively and fizzy. Flood your palate with this one.

Talk about a blending of styles. I expected an iPa til I poured and a rather thick darker shade of brown ale came out. Hoppy, yes. Malty, yes. Tons of roast, pine, spruce, a hint of toffee and grapefruit. Very interesting beer. Hard to class. I put this in as a brown, because, well, it's brown. BA has it as a brown. RB has it as an amber (shouldn't it be amber or red if it's classed as an amber?) and others have it as an iPa. Idunno. Put it where you like, I say it's a decent hoppy brown.
