    Pours a translucent reddish dark brown with a thick, pale tan head that persists. Aroma is not strong but quite tempting, malty with chocolaty undertones. Flavor is malty and chocolaty with hoppy undertones and hints of cloves. Texture is fizzy and fairly smooth.

    Yesterday was a celebration for many reasons. Thus the reason behind the mass amounts of tasty beer consumed yesterday. Pours a dark chocolate brown colour with a thin tan head. Aroma is mild, fruit, spice, cocoa and chocolate milk. Flavor is mild as well. Firm citrus fruit, toffee and almond flavors.

    a lightly hopped beer for a rogue ale. kind of non-descript, not fitting into any style well. a decent malt forward beer, but pretty simple really. eh.

    I feel like I might be having a completely different beer than everyone else.... the aroma is immediately is some smoke, a subtle scotch influnece, bit of burnt grain, and some tartness like sherry vinegar.... but like everyone else says, there is a touch of balancing grapefruity hopping, some round medium bodied malts, and just a hint of yeasty fruit, like peach muffins. Mediocre I think....

    Pour is amber brown with a small off-white head. Not sure what to expect yet. Aroma and flavor is mostly malts, a hint of toffee. Hops really seem to take a backseat--mostly only to keep the malty sweetness at bay. Nothing stands out; wouldn't buy this again.

    Tasted on tap at the Celebrator Best of the West Beerfest on 2/15/2009. This American Strong Ale pours a dark brown color from the tap. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is caramel and fruity with some grapefruity hops, Medium bodied ASA. The malts are caramel and sweet. The hops are grapefruity and earthy. Nice carbonation. Nice hoppy malty beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

    Dark reddish brown colour. Cookies, plums and grapefruit in the aroma. Smooth flavour of cookies and blue frui. Creamy mouthfeel. Toffee and grapefruit in the malty aftertaste.

    Alrighty, what I have before me is "Mogul Ale," but the bottle is completely different. This one has a snow boarder on it. I picked it up in Newport at the brewpub. Pours a dark mohagany color with a nice head that leaves a respectable amount of lacing. The aroma is *really* strong; my wife was sitting next to me as I poured this and she commented on the scent. Malt, pine, and light floral hops are the most obvious scents. Flavor is citrus/pine, really sweet malt balanced by very generous helpings of hops, and a definate strong alcohol presence. Palate is almost thin for the style, but it’s still okay. Overall, this isn’t the best Rogue out there but definatly worth a try.

    07.08.05 RBSG Beer colored stuff is a hidden monster. Beautiful brown sugar and plum on nose. Light pepper and spiced up hops bite, some nut-bread thing. Thinner body than expected, but nice and sturdy, though varied malt profile is lost under a cacophony of somewhat confusing hops.

    This is an interesting beer. It's kind of like what I would imagine would happen if I made a half and half with a porter and an IPA. You've got the roastiness and coffee and some of the body of a porter with the bitterness and citric nature of an IPA.
