Les 3 Brasseurs American Red Cream Ale

Pours a small amount of foamy head and come to a thin coating. Has a light amber appearance with reddish hues. Patchy lacing. Aromas are light roasted malts, wheats. Strong nutty malty flavours and earthy hops. Fairly strong citrus hops in the mix. Light creamy mouthfeel. Pretty easy going down. Slight mild bitterness.

The server explained to me that this one was not so much carbonated, which seems to be the difference with their normal "Red Cream Ale" which has nitro. Asked to see if it was cask, but not sure of the answer (or if he knew what I meant). This one is the June beer in Ottawa. Pours a clean deep amber colour with a mild creamy beige head, average retention and a little lace. Light fruity aromas, but surprised to not smell hops or anything else. Not much carbonation, smooth mouthfeel. Fruity mild malt flavours with a quick finish and a tad of hops in the aftertaste, creating a very light dryness. Nothing bad here, but not much attack (brewed for the mass market). Gets better as you go. Would be a good session red ale. Note: seems like the Toronto peeps have the nitro version.
