The bolo knife’s blade is strong enough and sharp enough to crack the toughest of coconuts. Easy drinking without lacking flavor, the addition of coconut is the perfect compliment to the subtle sweetness and nutty undertones present from the specialty malts. We took a simple recipe and kicked it up a notch bringing a taste of the tropics to Asheville’s “brutal” winter season.

A good beer, but I've had several coconut beers lately and this is definitely not at the head of the pack. Less of a coconut flavor and more spices. Not too sweet, though. Some people may prefer this over the other candy bar tasting ones.

Taps translucent sepia with a thin but decent light tan head. Aroma presents roast malt, coconut and cloves notes. Flavor features toasted coconut, roast malt, cloves, and subtle toffee tones for a kewl brown ale. Body is firm, fizz is good, finish is toasty and coco-nutty. BOLO for this if you like dark beer and coconut!
