2 YEAR BOURBON BARREL-AGED CUVEE This complex reserve ale is the embodiment of triumph, and a fearless approach to blended beer. Our base blended ale is then combined with an intricate mixture of sweet malts, fruits, spices and herbs before it's aged in Kentucky bourbon barrels for two years. The result of this gradual and elaborate process is Glory & Gold, a magnificently decadent beer that tastes just like victory should. Punchy notes of citrus, tobacco, orange peel, vanilla, and fruit, finish with a tart and funky kick to marry the oak and bourbon introduced from the barrels. Drink it today, or cellar it to enjoy later as it matures.

The beer pours a translucent dark crimson colour with a light tan foamy head which leaves quite a bit of lacing. The aroma is tart fruit and bourbon. So far, not so good. There are also hints of burnt wood, vanilla, grains, and caramel. The mouthfeel is thin to medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour starts out with notes of alcohol and tart fruit, and finishes with an oily wood flavour on the tongue. I’m not a fan. -

2019 edition in a box and with a waxed cap. Hazy deep amber colour with a creamy, warm beige head, good retention and thick foamy lacing. Aromas are a nice blend of the Brett sourness, earthiness with the dark fruits, caramel and some nice oak-vanilla. The sour taste is kind of strong at first sip, but does calm down a little. The dark fruits are much milder, which is too bad. The Bourbon notes are felt a little in the finish, but wish it was more. More than the sourness that lingers a bit. Not bad for the rest, but probably better if cellared.
