Thanks to Chopz for the acquisition. 500ml bottle from the brewery. Pours a huge frothy brownish head that doesn’t let up. Excessive carbonation. Has a deep dark brown appearance. Aromas of dark fruits, dates. The wine like aroma is pretty noticeable from being aged in cabernet sauvignon barrels. Flavours of barley malts, spices, plums and dates, raisins and grapes. Alcohol seems more potent than the 6%abv which is pretty nice, getting the stronger beer feel but with a bit less punch. Pretty good!

In the wine world, I love Cabernet Sauvignon, so blending this with their Black Express stout... oh yeah !! Dark brown colour, almost black with a long lasting beige head and loads of creamy lace. Aromas of Cab Sauvignon and vanilla from the oak barrel. Hints of roasted malts, even in the taste, but the wine does take over. And I like this. Oak in the taste... lingering. The grape flavours to start with and then the vanilla finishing with the burnt malts. Pretty damn good (cabernacle que c'est bon) !
